Clinic A Huge Success

THE EASTERN CANADIAN PASO FINO HORSE ASSOCIATION
PRESENTED
A CLINIC FOR ANY BREED OF HORSE
WITH
LARRY WHITESELL,
2002 Trainer of the Year
The Eastern Canada Paso Fino Horse Assoc. had 2 very successful clinics in 2002 at Ambleside Paso Finos. The first was with Carlos Tobon from Texas. Carlos is a well respected Paso Fino judge as well as a popular clinician and author of a book on Paso Fino training. As well as giving us a Latin perspective on training Paso's Carlos also incorporates some dressage into his training methods.

Our second clinic in Sept. was with Larry Whitesell who had just been named Trainer of the Year at the 2002 Grand Nationals. This was Larry's 3rd time back and as he said it takes almost 3 times before everything sinks in. And I think for those of us who attended his other clinics I think this was true. We seemed to get so much more out of it and things finally came together. Larry's quiet demeanor and his ability to get this point across to horse and rider make him an excellent clinician.

For 2003
Again Larry Whitesell was back, this time on June 28 and 29. Larry's theme was  "how to educate the rider to teach the horse how to accept the bridle." Everyone was welcome to come with or without a horse. And you didn't need to own a Paso Fino to attend since everything Larry did in the clinic could be applied to any breed of horse as he went through ground manners, flexing, suppling, basic dressage movements and equitation.
